NO MORE EXCUES by Marvin Michael O'Bryant
“"NO MORE EXCUSES" draws from Marvin's three decades of experience as a professional, licensed barber. Every day, he's witnessed numerous young individuals of various ages lacking enthusiasm, vitality, and vigor. When he looks at them, he sees a sense of melancholy. As parents, we've coddled our youth, both boys and girls, leaving them without the motivation to strive for greatness or to become independent scholars who contribute meaningfully to society. Marvin firmly believes that from a young age, children should be encouraged to recognize their unique and exceptional qualities.
Some adults spend the day asking children where they want to go or what they want to eat, but do we ever ask them what they aspire to become? Marvin thinks that all children, especially those of Black heritage, possess inherent athleticism, intelligence, and talent. Unfortunately, many parents fail to grasp this potential or don't know how to nurture it until it's too late. It's crucial to instill a sense of pride in children early on and communicate that we believe in their potential. They should understand the value of their own name, which will lead to self-respect and command respect from others.

Children should be taught essential skills like reading, writing, and respecting their elders. They should also be encouraged to be good listeners and spend less time talking so they can better understand how the world operates. Combatting laziness should be a priority in childhood, challenging their conventional ways of thinking. Throughout their development, they need unwavering support as they explore their gifts and talents. These seemingly small gestures will accumulate into a lifetime of cherished memories and gratitude.
Above all, children must know that they are loved unconditionally, regardless of the circumstances, and that the world eagerly awaits their contributions. There are no more excuses; it's time to empower our youth for success.

MESSAGE from the AUTHOR
It is an honor and a privilege to be able to put into words my life's stories so that you can be able to walk with me through this journey that I have been on. I'm sure you can relate to some of the situations and encounters that I have experienced. So if you are reading any of my books, you should know by now that I write from the heart, and I write to encourage others that whatever comes your way in life, whether it be good or bad, count it all joy because if we don't have a test, we don't have a testimony, and I feel that everything that happens to you and for you in life is written in the script. In other words, don't spend all of your time dwelling on the negative, but rather focus your energy on the positive, and remember that someone is always worse off than you. I will leave you with these last words: "Learn to forgive, trust in God, and you can change at any time." Learn to love and ask God what He has for you. There are three important dates in your life: one is your birthdate, the second is when you learn your purpose, and the third is when you start to enjoy fulfilling your purpose. Thank you, God bless you, and continue reading.
