Born in Chicago, IL...

...at Provident Hospital, Felecia Portwood was the third eldest daughter of nine siblings.  Her parents, Beverly Smith and Mark Dunbar, are smiling down from the heavens because their now grown daughter is a published author sharing her incredible story with the world. Portwood's family values would be similar to her parents in that she now has four children of her own: two daughters and two sons, while she endeavors to be a successful and humbled mother, wife, and business owner.

Portwood's Journey...

​...would lead her to attend schools in Illinois and Utah. She is the co-owner of Smoke By Da Pound LLC, a Jerk BBQ Catering company, and there are other businesses ventures Portwood intends to tackle when the time is right! She will take advantage of living life to its fullest and being an obedient servant of GOD.

For many of Portwood's adult years, she was broken on the inside, but every day she would wake up and show up with a smile, encouraging others amid her many storms. This further explains her passion for helping others and the plan to write her second book because she knows that by sharing her trials and victories, she will be of inspiration to others.
Some of Portwood’s hobbies include bowling, vacationing, fine dining, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys creating lifelong memories with her husband and children. Felecia Portwood is a God-fearing woman whose strong, wise, giving, loyal, firm, and surrounded by those who support her. What more can you ask for?

Inspired by a true story, The Cost of Disobedience | What Price Will You Pay? by Felecia Portwood takes you on a journey of an adult woman who gets involved with a man who happens to have met her at the perfect hour of a very heated evening. Their relationship ultimately leads to a marriage that affords her many valuable necessities of life. This story captures her struggles to be a good wife and mother, maintaining love, peace, and happiness while enduring deceit, adultery, abuse, disrespect, manipulation, control, and division from her loved ones.

This story begins on the south side of Chicago in 2004 when after multiple failed relationships, a woman tries to find peace and live a drama-free life, not knowing the drama awaiting her ahead. In her defeat to see all of the red flags, she learns the consequences of her actions, but she is given the opportunity on several occasions to obey GOD. Would she finally realize that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that life can be better than she'd ever imagined? Will she ever be released from her toxic marriage? Will she gain the strength needed to move forward after all that she has endured if she just decides to trust HIM?

Portwood's goal for her readers is to know that they must have their own personal relationship with GOD and to be open and available to hear from HIM in every aspect of their life. She also wants us to know that GOD is with us in every step in our path, whether good or bad and to yield to what GOD says because day-to-day life can undoubtedly blindside us, which may cost us. Obey HIM and learn to embrace your trials and tribulations because the rainbow will come after the storm if you follow his command.
