I want to live and be a testimony of his power and strength.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Born to Juanita Duplanter and Armell Pate, Chantell Windham was born in a small town surrounded by natural beauty in Newton County, Jasper, Arkansas. She is the oldest of 5 sisters and 3 brothers (2 siblings being deceased), siblings from both her parents' sides of the family. Windham was also blessed with having a bonus dad, a man she appreciated more than he may have ever known; (he is deceased). And as Windham grew to adulthood, she wanted a family of her own, so she married and now is the proud mother of two.
Windham's journey would lead her from the state of Arkansas to the state of Iowa, where she attended East High School, Simpson College and Drake University, she continued her studies when she moved to Illinois and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the University of Chicago. Her passion for education has gained her a B.A. in Sociology, MPA, and M.ED.
On a personal note, Windham's hobbies include crafting, working out, shopping, reading, and cooking for her family. It wasn't until the manifestation of her mother's words that she finally shared HER-STORY of how she had cancer, but cancer never had her. Although the battle with cancer was challenging, breaking the news to her family was even more taxing. Because of Windham's loyalty, reliability, and known for loving with all her heart, she found herself surrounded by family and friends who became her soldiers in war and the reason for the abundant life she has experienced. Chantell Windham is still here!

This story touched my heart. It is an amazing read. It captures those very important moments, before the news, after the news, and the outcome of having a support system. Not only do I consider this to be a serious read, it took me through a roller coaster ride of emotions (hilarious, warming, engaging, funny as hell, hilarious, inspiring, a page-turner, touching, and tears), but for some reason, I never felt the emotion of sadness. This manuscript can really save someone's life, in my humble opinion. I think my life has been extended with the expressed love and laughter of this read. |
